Acme Toy Company NYC 1908 - 1930s produced fine quality composition dolls. Their motto, "We sell premium dolls without a premium price" [200 Years of Dolls, 3rd Ed., Dawn Herlocher, 2005, KP books, Iola WI] described the quality dolls that were produced at a price many could afford. This 24" Mama Doll has a composition head, cloth body, wig, sleep eyes, and an open mouth. She is marked ACME TOY and appears to be in her original clothes.

She is wearing what appears to be her original crochet and ribbon bonnet.

Her two front teeth and tongue show with her open mouth.

She has a nice brown wig to frame her nicely colored face.

It appears as though her eyes are tin but it's hard to tell for sure. Her body has come cracks in the composition.

The Armand Marseille Dream Baby and the Acme Toy Company Mama Doll are both from the early 1920s.
