Ballerina by Gata Box Toys, stamped 1983 on the back of her head. She is approximately 12 inches tall and wearing her original clothes. Gata Box, Ltd. purchased Horsman Dolls. In 1986 Horsman Dolls, Inc. laid off its remaining employees and closed down its South Carolina factory. Horsman Dolls did not manufacturer their dolls overseas and was one of the last companies to manufacturer dolls in the United States. Drew Industries, its corporate parent, sold what remained of Horsman to a company named Gata Box, Ltd. in 1986. In 1999, Gata Box Ltd. went out of business, succeeded by a new corporation known as Horsman, Ltd., headquartered in New York and they continue to market dolls but their dolls are made in Hong Kong.
